AION 2 Character Creation, Appearance Vouchers and Makeover Events

AION 2's character editor goes deep. NC says it offers more than 200 customization options. This page covers what the editor lets you change, every way NC lists for changing your look after creation, and the two community events built around character looks.

TL;DR

The customization screen

When you create a character, the Customization screen splits into tabs along the top: Preset, Face, Hair, Style and Body Shape. The top left has a Style Shop button, and Manage Appearance sits at the bottom left.

The Face tab opens with a grid of face presets. NC's Team Update describes the editor as offering "more than 200 customization options."

NC also published a short video that shows only the customization screen.

Level note: NC's September 18 hotfix notes say characters below level 10 can no longer use appearance change tickets. If a ticket won't work on a new character, that's the likely reason.

For more on the Founder's items and the current Twitch Drops, see the Founder's Pack guide and its Twitch Drops section.

Closet and dyes

Outfits you collect live in the Closet. It has Equip, Closet Shop and Storage tabs, sorted into Armor, Weapons and Decoration. NC says the cosmetics "can be further customized by an intricate dye system."

One caveat from NC's skin notice: skins can look different from how they appear on the customization screen, depending on your device settings and the in-game lighting.

Wing skins are covered in the wings guide.

"Character creation restricted"?

NC's notices don't explain this message. What NC does say to players waiting in a queue or joining now is to "please consider creating your character on a recommended server" (Information on Server Transfer). Its new-server notices add: "We encourage players to join new servers as they become available" (example notice). NC also says server transfers will be available starting on October 14th, within the same faction.

The regions and current server pairs are in our server overview.

That note covers those outfit sets only. Check the creation screen in game.

Which class should I make? That's a separate choice from your looks. NC's own role descriptions are in the classes guide.
